Air Soft Wars in Recreation
Air Soft War
Air soft is an endeavor which is done for amusement or military training and is like paintball. Paintball as you may be aware fires pellets from a special paintball gun that paints or stains a color on the clothing of the person who is smacked while air soft pellets do not color the attire of the one who is struck.
Air soft war can be thought of as being very similar to tactical videogames like the popular Counter-Strike or Call of Duty where teams compete against each other in various locations including Capture the Flag and bombing settings. As air soft is made to be real-looking the weapons used are basically the same to actual weapons in overall sizes and even in the amount of ammunition per clip if you so choose. Although you may be able to locate some paintball guns which are somewhat realistic in dimensions usually the weight and amount of rounds that are available for paintball is what made it more likable and realistic for civilians. Whereas air soft, though used by people is also the choice of police and military personnel for simulations and training.
Due to the fact that air soft is an endeavor not limited to military personnel the lone dissimilarity between military and civilian air soft is that different words have been given for the different kinds of activities carried out during the game.
For real-life simulated events where tactical maneuvers, military attire, real or limited ammunition are used and military or police personnel train, the expression used is MilSim which stands for Military Simulation. Another term used is “skirmish” or “open day” where realism is typically negated and allowances are made for things like high-capacity magazines and the use of any kind of camouflage clothing is allowed. Another variation to air soft war is termed Live Action Role Playing or LARP for short in which more rules are put in to make the setting somewhat alike to the videogames where rules about the amount of hits to kill an opponent, armor and even more unrealistic improvements like supernatural powers are endowed upon players.
Because air soft pellets do not paint the target, players must depend on an honor-based system in which the one who is shot will announce that he or she has been hit and then move from the battlefield back to the safe zone. In order to prevent being shot by other players, the one who is moving back to the safe zone will often take a flag, flashlight or beacon to say that he or she is no longer a member of the game or hold his/her weapon up over their head.
Air soft pellets unlike other pellets also have bio-degradable kinds that can be used if players desire. These bio-degradable rounds are intended to have little impact on the environment unlike the traditional plastic rounds that may be troublesome to locate after a few rounds are played.
Because air soft war is alike to tactical first-person shooter videogames it is often played by players of these games who wish to test their skills in real life, and because a similar environment to the ones in the videogames is what they want to experience these players and their teams may choose to play with Live Action Role Playing rules.
First Person Shooter or FPS videogames typically have a melee weapon which can be used to silently eliminate an opponent from behind or whenever your opponent’s life points may be low; air soft has a similar melee rule with knifing where rubber or toy knives are used.
