Bump Fire During Gun Practice

Guns are very dangerous weapons that have caused critical damages to its victim and in most cases results in death. Gun holders should always exercise responsible safety techniques which includes using their instinct, preparedness and knowledge of their environment to ensure that no civilian is harmed unintentionally. The act of bump firing is performed when someone uses the recoil of the firearm to fire numerous bullets in rapid succession. This is mostly achieved by using a semi-automatic weapon. A gun holder can either bump fire from a gun at the hip or at the shoulder but the shoulder is the more accurate method of choice.

The hip-shot technique is close to the way how you shoot light-guns at a game shop. This process involves holding the fore grip of the gun with the non-trigger hand, and letting go of the grip on the firing hand so the trigger finger is still placed in its regular location. At this point you would force the weapon forward so you can apply force onto the trigger finger from the trigger, while keeping the trigger finger at a stationary position. The firearm will recoil and then return to its initial location after the shots are discharged first resetting and then pushing forward against the trigger thereby firing rapid shots. The rapid release from a semi automatic simulates the firing of an automatic weapon, despite a large amount of rounds are fired in rapid succession, the trigger finger initiates each fire so that the full automatic fire does not actually happen. Adding a laser sight to your weapon will greatly enhance your aim when doing the hip-shot method. If you are using an AK-47 be sure to hold the weapon as close to the end of the barrel, so you can counter-act the barrel when it attempts to wave around.

Devices from complicated, especially made triggers to the low-tech rubber band are used in order to facilitate the bump firing, but, not all such devices or modifications are authorized. A well-known example in America is the case of the Akins Accelerator for the Ruger 10/22. Though the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) initially allowed mechanical devices for producing rapid fire. This ruling governing firearms has since revoked the terms and conditions and presently the mechanism is illegal.

The usual gun fire is considered to be very loud in the region of 140 to 170 decibels while the normal brink for pain is 130 db. The volume level of the discharge can be reduced to about 115 db by using a suppressor often called a ‘silencer’ and/or subsonic ammunitions. Some cartridges are manufactured subsonic, while most others can be decreased to a volume level below the speed of sound. Some integral suppressors use ported barrels to bleed off propellant gas and thus minimizes the volume of the gunfire. Some survival training practices allow the use of three gunshots with a break period of one or two seconds as a distress warning. Gunshots can cause serious ballistic trauma from gunshot wounds. It is estimated that well over 500,000 injuries are sustained annually from guns; 300,000 or relating to those taking place in situations such as wars, with the remainding 200,000 or more being encountered from non-conflict occurrences. Buying night sights for your gun, will help you in getting good view in night or low light conditions.
